Today we went to visit the areas in Cogon near the river. Almost everything in the area is wiped out, but rebuilding and rehabilitation is already in progress.
We got to meet a few of the children there with the guide of our gracious host, Msgr. Bernardo Pantin of Palo cathedral.
Most of the children were orphaned because of the typhoon.
This is Cogon elementary school.
We visited San Joaquin church where they held a mass burial for the typhoon victims.
A very heartbreaking scene, as the survivors pay their respects to their deceased loved ones.
Rebuilding and rehabilitation continues.
The Filipino spirit is strong and resilient.
